On the edge of downtown Graton, Hedda Brorstrom has created an enchanting oasis of flowers, with 200 varieties that she uses in her floral designs, sells to other florists, and transforms into bouquets sold at local stores and offered in a unique flower CSB (Community Supported Bouquets, a weekly subscription based on the CSA model). Her clients include brides, restaurateurs, and event planners.
Amongst Hedda’s gorgeous blooms–grown free of any chemical inputs–are herbs, which she occasionally uses in a line of creams and lotions, informed by her studies at the California School of Herbal Studies, located in Forestville, where she received a certificate in herbalism.
Hedda is a founding member of the North Bay Flower Collective, too, and is an enthusiastic support of others eager to start their own flower farms. She supports other local growers, as well, by buying their flowers to augment her own.
You can see a lovely array of Hedda’s bouquets and arrangements at her web site, here, where you can also sign up for the flower CSB and explore her full bio and philosophy.
